Ederson: “I love Benfica, I am a Benfica fan”

At the end of the Manchester City's win, at Old Trafford, over Manchester United, Ederson spoke with Sport TV and showed to be attentive to what happens at Benfica.

"Of course, I follow Benfica. I love Benfica, I am a Benfica fan, I left the club but I am still a supporter. Things didn't go well in the Champions League, but the team put on a good performance at Dragão and also now at home against Estoril. I believe Benfica will rise again and, God willing, win the 37^th league title”, he confessed, after the match in which the Brazilian goalkeeper made an outstanding save in the dying moments.

About the current situation in Benfica's goal, Ederson admitted he was not surprised with Júlio César's decision to leave the reds and talked about Svilar and Bruno Varela.

"He had already told me... It is a personal decision that must be respected. He wants to end his career playing, it is reasonable after the great career he has made. Unfortunately, it will not be at Benfica, but I hope he finishes his career with the glory he wishes", said the goalkeeper who left Benfica to join Manchester City on July 1^st.

"Svilar was unlucky in his Champions League debut, against Man. United, at Luz, but he has a lot of quality. I have spoken with several former teammates and they all say the same, that he is very good. The same is true for Bruno Varela and he has played very well in the last few games. I hope they may continue like this", he wished.
