05 December 2017, 22h23
Benfica said goodbye, this Tuesday night, to the European competitions. In the last match of the Group Stage, a defeat at Estádio da Luz, by 0-2, against Basel. M. Elyounoussi (6') and D. Oberlin (65') scored the goals.
“We finished like we started. We have dominated the match and we lost with only two goal chances by the opponent. Now it's done. We look to the future and our focus is the championship", he said.
Analyzing the European campaign in 2017/18…
“It's a campaign to forget, but we don't get anything by looking at the past, only looking forward and the only thing we can do is to think about the next match, to play better and to win. That's what we're going to do", declared the Greek midfielder.
Concluding… “The responsibility is always high, always to win the domestic titles and - if we don't win -, it isn't a successful season for us. We're used to win and that's what we're going to do this year”, said Samaris.
Next Saturday, at 6:15 pm, Benfica plays against Estoril (Liga NOS).
