According to a study carried out by the Financial Times, the Four-time champions are the emblem that makes the most money with youngster nurtured at Caixa Futebol Campus or signed at an early stage of their career.
23 January 2018, 12h26
The financial balance in relation to young players nurtured or signed started in the 2008/09 season, therefore, in Benfica's case, the numbers generated by the sales of Fábio Coentrão, David Luiz, Ángel di María and, more recently, Renato Sanches, stand out.
The capacity to generate talent and develop it is not something new. The Caixa Futebol Campus has been a nursery from where came out another names that play in the biggest European clubs and that represented revenues for the Club, such as: Bernardo Silva (Mónaco/Manchester City), André Gomes e Nélson Semedo (Barcelona), João Cancelo (Valência), Ivan Cavaleiro (Mónaco), Lindelöf (Manchester United), Gonçalo Guedes (PSG), Ederson (Manchester City) and Hélder Costa (Wolverhampton).
