Thank you, André Almeida!

Benfica's professional football team held another training session on Tuesday, April 22, at the Benfica Campus, with a view to the match against Tirsense, scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz. The second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-final is scheduled for 8:15 pm.

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.

It's a legacy that remains, of icons that cross time, evoked by blood family and Benfiquistas. This Wednesday, March 19, marking Father's Day, the children of Eusébio, Coluna, Torres, Bento, Chalana and Pietra express their feelings of immense gratitude, in an expression of unconditional love for their progenitors: "Thank you, Dad, for everything you've done for Benfica!"

Emotions are running high here... It's a trip home, a happy homecoming, where nostalgia has been quenched, dreams have been remembered, goals have been achieved and reunions, hugs, tearful voices and tears have reigned!  Michel Preud'homme, one of our own, one of the faces of the Mystique, was at home... and it's unmissable, and it's so beautiful! Because this, this is Benfica!

Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Members selected 20 of the Club's players who stood out during the 20 years of the new Cathedral, celebrated on October 25. André Almeida was one of those chosen for The Champions Wall at Estádio da Luz.

After the heartfelt and deserved tribute to André Almeida at Estádio da Luz before the kick-off against Casa Pia, it's time to review a career of 12 seasons representing the Sport Lisboa e Benfica. At the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, in an interview with BTV, the former captain recalled the best moments of a life of eagle on his chest that resulted in 308 games, 11 goals and 15 titles.

André Almeida was honored this Saturday, February 4, at Estádio da Luz, before the Benfica-Casa Pia clash, from Matchday 19 of the Liga Bwin. The right-back, team captain, said goodbye in front of the Benfiquistas (almost 60 thousand on the stands), with a guard of honor from his teammates and the trophies won. 12 seasons with the red jersey, and over 300 games, five Championships, four Super Cups, four League Cups and two Portuguese Cups.
